on the way to central after spending the day chillin out after finishing all undergraduate exams
As the title suggests, I've finished all my undergraduate exams and if I past, next year, I will be a graduate; a graduate without a job or career prospects. All I know is that I will have to endure more wasted hours at my local. The only place where I can go and feel ripped off. Yes, I hate Centrelink, but being unemployed = dole = wasted time at Centrelink.
Anyway, today I spent some time in the city. One of my oldest friends gave me an early birthday present which happened to be on my list - so thats another goal achieved. Yay! VHH gave me some awesome stuff and kudos to him for remembering my birthday. Thanks.
After that, I went to the city to buy some noughart candy; which is apparently all the rage in Honkiland right now. Anyway, I was instructured by my demanding mother to empty the shop of this particular kind of candy. At $24 a kilo, it wasn't cheap, but my mother insisted that I purchase nine kilos worth. Yes, your heading is probably spinning right now (mine is but I think that is because of the lack of sleep). After giving the guy my demands, I proceeded to pack 4 kilos of candy into shopping bags and the rest was placed in a box, which the guy kindly sticky taped tight and made a handle for me from the tape.
Anyway, looking like I was the biggest fob this side of the ocean separating Australian from the rest of the fobs, I walked to Central station with, my school side bag, 3 shopping bags and a 5 kilo box of candy. Took me a while but I finally reached that mormon park on eddy avenue when lo and behold, the box gave way! The sticky tape handle came right off (which turned out to be a tiny bit longer than the width of the box and anyone who has any common knowledge must know that this small piece of stickiness can no way in the world support 5 kilos of candy) and in the process, exposed the presious candy to the eyes of the mormon people and passers by.
Question: have you ever seen a fob being embarassed? Well I definitely did because as I looked down, my glasses fell off my head and landed on the grass and I saw my reflection. It was horrible. I managed to stuff the candy into the other shopping bags (again, thanks to VHH for getting a really really really big bag for the present) and was forced to carry the box with both arms while managing 3 huge bags of candy.
Whats my point? How can you not hate stingy, tight arsed cheapsake Asians! Just a little bit more tape could of saved me the embarassment and perseve the shape and form of VHH's present bag. But what happened? That stupid man, being an Asian, constructed me a handle that would of sent civil engineers and industrial designers back to the stone ages! I don't understand why? Sticky tape isn't expensive but why are they so tight on it? It flies in the face of logic!
Unfortunately, I cannot find a public policy that will remedy this tightarsedness. The only possible policy that might work is to introduced sticky tape as an GST exempt good and give 3M and other manufacturers a huge subsidy to bring down the price. But the issue here is not the price of sticky tape, but the tightarsed nature of Asians. For this, the only remedy is to systematic increase the loosiness of tightarsed syndrome. Yes, I'm labelling it a disease because I think everyone deserves their equitable share of sticky tape but how to loosen up your arse? I don't even want to think about it.
Honestly, just a little bit more sticky tape........

on the way to the city after second last exam
Irony of the day: I've spend the past 8 days doing as little study as possible (translation: maximum of 90 minutes per day) for a test that lasted 3 hours (I left after 80 minutes) with 65 multiple choice (I guesstimated them all - except the last question which was who was the worse US president in the last century with all response being George Bush Jr (and for those who care, he was elected in 2000, the "start" of the new century, so that question was wrong!)) that covers 15 or so academic papers (I only read half of them) on funds management research and yet, I now feel so depleted and tired. Why.....?
So tired in fact that I have nothing much to say about the world around me. I can't complain for some reason - but I think the latter point is because I'm starting to feel a bit nostalgic (with the end of uni and all) and that I'll be travelling overseas soon (which I haven't done before) and that I won't see everyone until 04. Isn't life great!
But I do have one complaint, Centrelink and all the bloody dole/single parent/student bludgers out there. But that is a story I will tell another day because I'm too drained to even begin it. The very thought of it makes me angry.
Now that I've started to think about whats happening, I have another biff - the government scrapped their plan to deregulated university fees - shame shame shame shame shame shame shame. The only opportunity (based on the premise that the Howard government is the most sadistic that ever enter parliament) to ever create a higher education system like the US where only the rich, privledged and social statused people are able to get a university education. With this system, substandard universities in Australia will cease to exists, thereby limiting the amount of people who can get a degree which will raise the prestige of degrees and existing universities. What universities will close - I have one in mind, it has a huge number of campuses with students who have limited potential (thus representing a huge drain on tax payer funds) and has a logo with a vee shape (ridiculous - how can one create reputation with a logo as farcical as that). Can anyone guess which one?
Noting that the above are quite controversial comments, I make no apologies for the offences that I made and will continue to make.
Feeling that my views, when legislated, will make Australia a better country, I wish everyone a merry christmas and to take care over the holidays because I don't want to return and be confronted with ill news.
Hoping the rain and clouds is putting a smile on your faces

on the way home from uni and lunch
I think I failed my test today. For those uninitiated, its my actuarial test. But then again, I tend to fail all the time and just scrap through. I just thought I'd let everyone know. Anyway, nothing to bitch about today. Theres still exams going on and I haven't had enough contact with the outside world for it to piss me off......yet.
Anyway, its starting to get exciting - only 3 exams left.
Hoping the sunshine is giving a headache.

on the way home from university for the last time
Yesterday, Wednesday 5th November, was the last day of university for me and some others. How sad.....its been three years and those years have gone by very quickly. Anyway, on the way home, I got hit by a little nostalgia........this stupid fat school kid was running up and down the platform at central and ran into me as I was getting on the train. Needless to say, I was quite peeved off, but he was fat, so naturally, I felt sorry for him and his future problems, which made me feel a whole lot better.
Anyway, as I sat down, another thought struck me, today would be my last day of travelling with school children, my last day at uni, my last day of wishing school children would fall off the platform and wishing that they didn't because they would delay my train and my last day of beingyoung and innocent.
Yes, young and innocent, because in a couple of months time, I will be forced to work for my income, livelihood and achievement of life goals - a most depressing thought. Makes you think doesn't it, why the fuck did the government introduce work for the dole schemes. It ridiculous! Furthermore, in a couple of months, I will be forced off Youth Allowance and onto Newstart Allowance (the dole for younger bludgers). ~sigh~
Exams starting soon, will be busy doing the right thing and concentrate on studying - studying how to maximise my welfare payments such that I don't have to work for it and not hand in a fortnightly form. *thinking of doing some largragians*
tyarrhea feeling melancholy and nonchalant
p.s. for a ‘pick me up’, check out my photos from the snows

on the way to the bathroom
Here's the story: a friend, XX, is having a 21st and one of our mutual friends, YY is organizing their present. YY demands that we pay before the purchase for the present [not how I usually do it], ok fine, and YY insists on buying it this weekend when I have practically ran out of liquid funds, ok fine, I'm indifferent to debt, but when you try to pay her, you can't seem to contact her.
Why? Because YY has two fucking mobile numbers! I hate people with more than one number
First, its counter productive and economically inefficient. I have to remember which number is operational during which part of the day and which carrier they are on so I can exploit the freebies. So I spend my morning working out which number is for what and finally giving up, I try both numbers. Alas, I end up with a huge mobile bill leaving voice messages on a mobile that is out of operation for half of the day!
Pointless
And what about those poor people without mobile numbers. I mean, given that Australia only has 6 digit mobile numbers (10 if you count the zero and carrier prefix), that's only 10^6 possible numbers per carrier and here we have 1 person with 2 numbers or 400% of their equitable allocation per carrier - its just not right!
Secondly, for people with two numbers - do they really think that they are that popular among their milieu to sustain two different numbers? I this caseI don't think so. I mean, a mobile in today's society is a very personal object - its your connection with the outside world and there's to yours. And to have two numbers just shows what an indulgent, self absorbed, narcissist you are!
Thirdly, my stupid carrier (ie Optus) charges my mobile when I call another carriers number, ummmm....that sounds right doesn't it? NO, because they still charge if its just a ring! Its ridiculous and believe me, I've lodged a complaint and am still waiting on a reply. So at the end of the day, I have a huge bill all because stupid people think itscool, trendy or down right stupid to have two mobile numbers.
Tell me how the world is suppose to operate when everyone has more than 1 mobile number? Sorry, let me carify something - she has 2 mobile numbers and 1 mobile so 1 can't be contacted on.
The solution - time for the federal government to privatized telstra (a bit out of the point) and to mandate an Australian Citizen identity Number or ACID for short. THis ACID number will be your new social security number, medicare (if it exists) number, bank account number, license number, passport number, student number, GUCCI VIP number, eBay number and most importantly, your mobile phone number! That way, only one person has one number and only one number to access everything else! However, for this to work, we need only one bank and one telecommunications carrier. My advice is to buy combines and Telstra shares.
Honestly, two numbers - its the new face of greed
