Here's the story: a friend, XX, is having a 21st and one of our mutual friends, YY is organizing their present. YY demands that we pay before the purchase for the present [not how I usually do it], ok fine, and YY insists on buying it this weekend when I have practically ran out of liquid funds, ok fine, I'm indifferent to debt, but when you try to pay her, you can't seem to contact her.
Why? Because YY has two fucking mobile numbers! I hate people with more than one number
First, its counter productive and economically inefficient. I have to remember which number is operational during which part of the day and which carrier they are on so I can exploit the freebies. So I spend my morning working out which number is for what and finally giving up, I try both numbers. Alas, I end up with a huge mobile bill leaving voice messages on a mobile that is out of operation for half of the day!
Pointless
And what about those poor people without mobile numbers. I mean, given that Australia only has 6 digit mobile numbers (10 if you count the zero and carrier prefix), that's only 10^6 possible numbers per carrier and here we have 1 person with 2 numbers or 400% of their equitable allocation per carrier - its just not right!
Secondly, for people with two numbers - do they really think that they are that popular among their milieu to sustain two different numbers? I this case
Thirdly, my stupid carrier (ie Optus) charges my mobile when I call another carriers number, ummmm....that sounds right doesn't it? NO, because they still charge if its just a ring! Its ridiculous and believe me, I've lodged a complaint and am still waiting on a reply. So at the end of the day, I have a huge bill all because stupid people think its
Tell me how the world is suppose to operate when everyone has more than 1 mobile number? Sorry, let me carify something - she has 2 mobile numbers and 1 mobile so 1 can't be contacted on.
The solution - time for the federal government to privatized telstra (a bit out of the point) and to mandate an Australian Citizen identity Number or ACID for short. THis ACID number will be your new social security number, medicare (if it exists) number, bank account number, license number, passport number, student number, GUCCI VIP number, eBay number and most importantly, your mobile phone number! That way, only one person has one number and only one number to access everything else! However, for this to work, we need only one bank and one telecommunications carrier. My advice is to buy combines and Telstra shares.
Honestly, two numbers - its the new face of greed
tyarrhea feeling frustrated and angry and annoyed and pissed off
