on the way to the city after second last exam

Irony of the day: I've spend the past 8 days doing as little study as possible (translation: maximum of 90 minutes per day) for a test that lasted 3 hours (I left after 80 minutes) with 65 multiple choice (I guesstimated them all - except the last question which was who was the worse US president in the last century with all response being George Bush Jr (and for those who care, he was elected in 2000, the "start" of the new century, so that question was wrong!)) that covers 15 or so academic papers (I only read half of them) on funds management research and yet, I now feel so depleted and tired. Why.....?

So tired in fact that I have nothing much to say about the world around me. I can't complain for some reason - but I think the latter point is because I'm starting to feel a bit nostalgic (with the end of uni and all) and that I'll be travelling overseas soon (which I haven't done before) and that I won't see everyone until 04. Isn't life great!

But I do have one complaint, Centrelink and all the bloody dole/single parent/student bludgers out there. But that is a story I will tell another day because I'm too drained to even begin it. The very thought of it makes me angry.

Now that I've started to think about whats happening, I have another biff - the government scrapped their plan to deregulated university fees - shame shame shame shame shame shame shame. The only opportunity (based on the premise that the Howard government is the most sadistic that ever enter parliament) to ever create a higher education system like the US where only the rich, privledged and social statused people are able to get a university education. With this system, substandard universities in Australia will cease to exists, thereby limiting the amount of people who can get a degree which will raise the prestige of degrees and existing universities. What universities will close - I have one in mind, it has a huge number of campuses with students who have limited potential (thus representing a huge drain on tax payer funds) and has a logo with a vee shape (ridiculous - how can one create reputation with a logo as farcical as that). Can anyone guess which one?

Noting that the above are quite controversial comments, I make no apologies for the offences that I made and will continue to make.

Feeling that my views, when legislated, will make Australia a better country, I wish everyone a merry christmas and to take care over the holidays because I don't want to return and be confronted with ill news.

Hoping the rain and clouds is putting a smile on your faces
