On the way from Changi Airport
Over the past two weeks, I have had many experiences that has opened my eyes and broaden my thoughts further than it has ever been. Unlimited possibilities now exists because of this snap vacation.
But not all trips are full of wonderful tales, sights and sounds. For me, some stange things happened that I need to learn from so the next time it happens, I can walk away with dignity.
Such as dropping my Tiffany birthday present down a three storey overpass in Hong Kong in the middle of the night into an enclosed section of a park full of dense bushes and trees surrounded by six feet tall fences. After unsuccessfully trying to scale the fence, then trying to be smart by climbing under I almost gave up when a friend offered to scale it too but to no avail. The next best solution: snap a ten feet tall bamboo and use it to slide my ring out to safety.
Or the time that I got hit by a bicycle in China. Standing at the kerb waiting for the lights to change, I naturally looked to my right before I crossed the road, however, stupid China-men decided to drive on the otherside of the road. Naturally I got hit by a cyclist running a red stop light as soon as I stepped on the road. Of course I wasn't hurt but the poor small China-men went flying a few feet and landed heavily. And of course he tried to tell me off in Chinese so I screamed at him to go fuck himself loudly and proudly in English.
Or the time I stepped in dog shit in a temple in Thailand. Of course the whole temple was of stone and marble and of course I was wearing my Hugo Boss sneakers and of course I had no where to scrap it off. What to do: rub your shoes against one of those prayer mats and run the hell out of there.
Or the time I got propositioned in Singapore. Of course it was so inexplicitly hot that I could only venture out at night and of course I went to the most obvious place: Chinatown. While exploring the alleys and looking for sonewhere to eat, a lady standing at the entrance of a building said quitely in Chinese - two hundred dollars an hour. Of course I replied "Wo mei you qian" - I have no money. And she also wasn't the cheapest too.
So I guess from the past two weeks, I can add those to my endless experiences and await the opportunities to do something differently next time. And while I'm waiting for that, I can spend my time trying on the endless combinations of clothes I bought.
